Need some help!

For all those families that have traveled to get your child, I need some help. I'm wondering what you would say to someone that is going to get their child should take with them. I always find that once you get there you always wish that you took something along with you. If anyone out there has any suggestions please leave a suggestion!

We went in July so of course the heat was crazy and we needed to wash our clothes constantly. Take a string or something strong to make a clothesline in your room and clothespins. Some extra detergent too, but you can get Tide at the local grocery store. I would make sure you take your snacks with you to your child's province. We didn't and wished we had. We were pretty much in our hotel room for 22hrs a day for 4 days and the food was not what we thought we ordered. ugh! The streets were too congested for us to attempt going anywhere. Anyway, hope this helps a little. If I think of something else I will let you know.

When we went to Kazakhstan it was summer and we would have taken more powdered juice mixes. Also, something we hoped we'd taken more of was actually peanut butter. For the times that you're not sure where to get familiar food, bread is always there and the two together make a meal. :) I would suggest small snack packs. Like crackers, nuts, gummy candies etc...throw them in a bag and when you're travelling from region to region, long car rides, plane rides, wait times etc. its helps to tide you over but might be difficult to find there when you just want something small. When we went we took way to many sets of clothes. You can always wash them and im sure Reagh won't care if you wear the same thing 4 different days that you're there. Comfortable shoes for walking because you never know where or what you're going to be doing/going. Take an extra travel bag inside your packed bag...you might just find some souveniers that you want to bring home for him and with Reagh you'll be allowed another bag on the plane. Baby motrin I hear is good for travelling on plane. (Though we didn't use it because Oksana was 8) Just some thoughts...take them or leave them. :) I can't wait until you are on your way!!! We're very excited for you!!

Stacky cups were a hit...bring aveeno baby wash..our youngest was afraid of baths..oldest wasn't (adopted at 14 months...youngest at three years)..
Snacks and comfort food for you (oatmeal was mine)...coffee, if you drink coffee (not that great there)....cheerios were also a hit with both. Not sure if you can buy them in China...I brought bottles with disposable liners//.easier clean up...and dish detergent and laundry detergent...brought lots of diapers (but they do sell them)..and formula for the oldest..she never took it..
