I used to hate this day too. With a passion. Definitely the worst day ever. I remember one year in Church on Mother's Day a stranger, an elderly lady beside me, reached over during the sign of Peace, took my hand and then pulled me closer and kissed me on the cheek. It was weird but I just felt she knew what pain I was in and it was all I could do not to cry. So, I hear ya. Agony.
But now, I have two little girls who call me Mommy, and it is the sweetest day ever. Really. And one day you will have a little one calling you Mommy too. You won't forget the pain of waiting, but it will fade with every little hug. When my daughter was 2 she was so excited about Mother's Day because she had planted a tree for me at Montessori. She kept whispering to me "It's your special day" with a huge grin on her face, over and over. She's right. It's THE MOST special day (other than the day you first hug your child). Hold it in your heart. It will be your most special day ever too :) Keep placing one foot in front of the other. You'll get there.
I'm sorry Kelly, its hard waiting and not knowing. I have to agree with the last commentor as well though. For years while we waited I felt the same way and now I love it. All your waiting will pay off in the end I do still hope you get good news before next year this time. I have a magazine that someone gave me that I would like to send to you. Can you email me your address? cathwishart@yahoo.ca
